Just like most people, my former job was a 9-to-5, 5-days a week routine, supposed to be. The pay was average, and like many employees working in typical advertising company, it is very seldom that I was not needed to work overtime especially for a deadline. Such job gave me a sense of security, somehow. Security that I would get a fixed salary every month regardless of my output as long as I stay in the office for 8 hours for five days each week. Added to that is the overtime pay that I get whenever I’m needed to “work” for longer hours or an extra day– sounds promising eh?
I’d say that it’s a perfect job for a cheater, but not for an artist. I know that if I’d just do my best I can hope that in God’s time I’ll be promoted and get a higher pay; but I also knew that sooner or later I will be compromising much of my freedom, and my love for travels.
So I decided to put some of my personal collections of photographs online. As soon as I did, I received a lot of orders and photography jobs from people around the globe! I never imagined I’d ever quit my daily job to spend my weekdays travelling to places where most people would only visit during their holidays. All I do now is travel with my camera, take as many pictures as I can, and sell them online!

Still life is one of the many challenging categories of photography where the photographer expresses himself like that of a painter. Here, the photographer manipulates everything prior to shooting in order to come up with the ideal photos that he has in his mind. Arranging the subject for still life is somewhat demanding too because the photographer must have some skills in composition and aesthetic sense so that the objects he intends to shoot may have proper balance and in order. Lighting is also a very important factor in still life as it creates the ambience that gives soul to inanimate objects. The composition can be in high key to express liveliness and warmth or low key to produce an eerie, mystifying effect. All in the middle of the two keys are the more usual approach yet still can be tricky.
Photography is very important in the fashion industry. As models give clothes and accessories a kind of life, fashion photographers capture that kind of life and let the people see how the clothes look good and how the accessories accentuate the body. Fashion houses and labels cannot hold runway shows everyday to shoppers and not all shoppers have the time and resources to attend a runway show. This is where I come in, in a pictorial for a magazine or website. I am a fashion photographer.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and photography is an expression of an individual’s unique perception of the outside world; an expression of one’s inner vision –an art.
