RETOUCHER

Purpose and Scope: Ralph Lauren is looking for a Retoucher to work closely with a team of Art Directors, Photographers, and Stylists to produce high quality imagery in a high volume, fast paced work environment. The Retoucher will QC all on figure and still life product images, on-board and monitor a team of freelance retouchers, and retouch high end images as needed. Additionally, the Retoucher role will work closely with the Digital Asset Management team in creating clear and concise studio workflows and helping to ensure images are uploaded on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Art Directors, Photographers and outside vendors to retouch, crop and upload on-figure images for all Ralph Lauren e-commerce brands
- Perform quality assurance protocols for all brands in accordance to Ralph Lauren guidelines
- Maintain image guidelines for image consistency on the global website.
- Help maintain digital assets file structure and organization
- Monitor digital asset trafficking across studio and vendors
- Coordinate with 3rd party retouching vendor to maintain image quality and image consistency; making amends where necessary
- Retouch special projects as needed
Qualifications:
- High technical proficiency in Macintosh OS and Adobe CC Photoshop
- BFA or similar in a Visual Arts related degree / 2+ experience as a Retoucher in a commercial/e-commerce environment
- Strong retouching skills
- Proven experience retouching on-figure photography
- Previous experience working within a digital photographic studio
- Strong understanding of color correction & image constraints
- Proven ability to work efficiently and producing a high turnover of images
- Proven ability to work to stringent deadlines with extreme pressure and change
- Pro-active and able to take initiative
- Excellent eye for detail
