This is the perfect role for a hands-on photography professional with a passion for conceptualizing, lighting, and delivering content that ensures an overall connection of branding across all channels. And in doing so, can enrich a customer’s shopping experience. This candidate is a highly creative, tech-savvy photographer who is detail-oriented and has experience working in a fast-paced, high volume photography studio. The ideal candidate will bring experience, a positive attitude and the ability to continually improve the studio environment.

Job Description Details

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Shoot lifestyle photography in studio and on location, efficiently and to the highest of quality, for all QVC platforms.
• Reference QVC brand guides to ensure brand and image consistency.
• Work with Designers to collaborate ideas, maximizing storytelling and commerciality.
• Work with Stylists to determine product placement, composition and background to ensure focused, on-brand production that engages shoppers across our multi-platform strategy.
• Determine lighting requirements to ensure quality shooting.
• Direct models on set.
• Partner with Producers to maintain pace of assigned daily shot list.
• Ensure images are coded in Capture One and labeled accurately during the photo shoot, as well as follow back up conventions.
• Work with Designers to edit the shoot output at the end of each day.
• Maintain a strong working relationship with the retouching team and deliver assets in a timely fashion.

Team Leadership

• Proactively help all other photography sets when time allows.
• Maintain a professional and productive working environment at all times.

Industry Knowledge

• Remain current on photographic technology, equipment, industry trends, and competitive aspects of the market.

• Collaborates with Designers and Stylists to develop innovative solutions that deliver consistent brand experiences.
• Engages directly with the Manager of Lifestyle Photography to enhance procedures, standards, and best practices.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE

• Extensive knowledge of Nikon and Phase One camera systems.
• Extensive knowledge of Capture One and Adobe Photoshop.
• Competent user of Excel and MS Office.
• A creative and exceptionally critical fine eye for detail.
• An ability to grasp brand aesthetic.
• A conscientious, passionate and positive person, who is able to work under pressure and with a sense of urgency.
• Good interpersonal skills and a can-do approach, strives to exceed expectations.
• An organized individual.
• Professional attitude on set and in front of clients.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in photography or related field.
• 8-10 years professional photography experience.
• Previous studio experience essential.
• A portfolio that demonstrates expertise in applied techniques and extensive knowledge of digital photography, lighting, composition and color quality.
