JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Communications Manager, Marketing Communications, the Graphic Designer/Multi-Media Producer plans, analyzes and creates visual solutions to communication needs through a wide range of materials, producing high quality, accurate work on deadline. Meets independently or as part of the creative team with clients to discuss business objectives and requirements of the job. Develops design briefs and timelines based on client meetings. Independently develops and makes judgments regarding the overall layout and production design for print and digital materials, which may include: magazines, brochures, annual reports, color and black-and-white ads for newspapers and magazines, emails and web layout, invitations, post cards, logo designs, banners, posters and signage. Holds a high degree of proficiency in assessing print procedures, photographic quality and other inputs to the design process.Works directly with client to gather input and provides work flow updates to the client. Collaborates with writers and other organizational staff on RCHSD short and long-range projects and proactively identifies design opportunities that advance the goals of Marketing & Communications. The graphic designer/Multi-Media Producer is often called upon to consult directly with senior management regarding logo/brand development and for hospital-wide projects requiring decor, design, visual presentations and themes, and often performs these functions with short turnaround times. Will be responsible for independently producing video projects, including developing concept, shooting broadcast-quality video, interviewing, and using non-linear editing to produce final, polished product. Examples include patient stories, interviews with physicians and executives, video news releases, medical division profiles and hospital events such as Team Rady.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in graphic communications, design, or related field or demonstrated competency acquired through related job experience
3 years of experience
Excellent communication skills including strong skills in editing, storytelling and creative conceptualization.
Highly proficient in Quark, Illustrator and Photoshop, as well as advanced skills with non-linear editing, such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere.
Experience processing, managing and tracking jobs with print vendors.
Experience with four-color process and spot-color printing.
Must possess knowledge of videography techniques, including audio recording and lighting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
5 years of experience
Experience with InDesign, still photography, GoPro cameras, drone and other unique videography techniques a plus.
Project management experience
Web design layout (excluding programming/coding) a plus.
Experience developing and maintaining vendor relationships.
Experience in the healthcare industry
